Note: Open this window to change all the door styles for the current job. Use Change 1 door to change only 1 cabinet's door.
In KCDw you are able to change all of the doors on all of the cabinets. Each job has a default set of doors. This means that each type of cabinet will use the same type of door unless told otherwise (see - change 1 cabinet's door). To change the door style defaults permanently, click on change, then edit system and Edit Startup
To Open The Change All Doors Window:
1. Click on doors on the main menu bar.
2. Click on change all doors.
At the top of this menu, you will see a door list. Each item on list is a different door style. The door styles follow a code system and are in alphabetical order.
Below the door list are the loaded doors. Each item in the loaded doors is used for the current job. The door style next to top is for all top cabinets on this job. The door style next to base is for all base cabinets on this job. The door style next to drawer is for all drawer fronts on this job.
Select an item on the door list then double click in the loaded door slot below. If you've changed top cabinet, all top cabinets on this job will now use that door style and so on.
The extra loaded door slots #4-#9 are used to change 1 cabinet's door only. When you change 1 cabinet's door you may notice that you only have 9 to pick from in the change 1 door screen. Use the change all doors feature to load a door style into an extra slot then go back to change 1 door for it to be on the list.
To Change All Door Types For The Job:
1. Use the tabbed list of doors to select the door category you are interested in. On that page find the door you need.
2. Click (with the left mouse button) and hold on the image of the door and then drag the mouse over to the proper slot (Top, Drawer, Base or Extras). Then release the mouse.
3. When you are done click the OK button.
To Change Doors On One Cabinet:
This is done in a different section, refer to help on Change 1 Door.
In the Change All Doors Window at the bottom you will see top, base, drawer and extra #4-9. These are the type of door styles that will be placed on the cabinets for the current job. If cabinets are already on the screen, any change of the first three will affect them. Before a job is designed you must open this choose door window to select what kind of doors should be placed on all cabinets. After the job is designed you are able to then go back and change individual doors on individual cabinets.
Extra Doors
Extra #4-9 are slots used to change 1 door only. When you change one door only it is easier to pick among slots #4-9 than through the large list of overall door styles. Refer to help on Change 1 Door for more information.
To change the door styles listed in the extra slots, first select the door type you want to add from the list of doors at the top. Every time you click on a door that is on the list at the top a picture of that door style will be displayed. This should make it a little easier when selecting door styles. With the door style highlighted, double click on the extra slot that you want to place the door style. It should put the door style in the selected slot for use in Change 1 Door.
When choosing doors through the top window you are actually not making a permanent change. The doors you are selecting are saved with this job. The next time you start a new job you will find the same basic door styles will be back on the list for top and base cabinets, drawer fronts, and all of your extra slots. To change this list permanently so that all the door styles you choose are always in the same slot you will need to edit your Edit Startup Data under the Doors Tab.
