EMail Data to KCDw

KCDw has a function that allows customers to send us files from the program, through the Internet, so we may assist you with any questions or problems you may have.  You MUST have an Internet access account and you MUST be connected to the Internet in order for you tor you to take advantage of this feature.

 

Please call technical support before using this feature.  You will be asked to enter a password before you can email us anything.  Our technical support specialist can give you the password you need.

 

To Email us a file(s) follow these steps:

 

1. Click on the Help Menu Item and find the Email Data to KCD item.  Click on it.  You will be asked to enter a password, please call our technical support line for a password.  Enter it in the appropriate place and click OK.  You may be asked if you are connected to the Internet.  You MUST be connected to the Internet to be able to send to the files to us.  If you are not, click cancel or close and then sign on to the Internet.  Note:  There are many different Internet Service Providers and configurations available to access the Internet.  KCDw cannot provide technical support for Internet connection problems.  Call your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for help.

 

2. You will be brought to a screen where you can choose exactly what you will be sending to KCDw.  You should have called KCDw technical support so we can advise you on which files need to be sent.  This screen is broken down into 3 separate tabs: Parts, Price and Jobs. 

 

The Parts tab lists all the available parts lists as well as reports that can be sent.  Just click on the Parts list that you need to send, type any message you would like in the box below and click send.  If you need to send us a report rather than a parts list, you would do the same thing, just highlight the appropriate report.

 

The Price tab works similarly to the Parts, you have a choice of sending Price Lists, C Top (Counter Top) Lists or Pricing Reports.  Just click on the appropriate item so it is highlighted and then type in a message, then click the send button.

 

The Jobs tab allows you to send us specific jobs.  If you are requested to do so by a KCDw technical support specialist, you would check the KCD system Files box.  Otherwise just click on the job you would like to send, type in a message and then click on the send button.

 

3. This will create a file.  The file will be named <your customer number>-EmailtoKCDw.zip.  Your customer number will be an up to 5 digit number. ex: 71234-EmailtoKCDw.zip  This file will be placed into the KCDw folder. 

 

4. YOU MUST EMAIL THIS FILE TO US.  To do this, you start your email program, this will vary greatly from, Outlook Express to AOL to Yahoo and any number of other programs or services.  In that program you should write an email addressed to kcdw@kcdw.com.  In that email, you should attach the file mentioned above.  In that email include your company name and a description of the problems to be addressed.

 

Note:

Email programs and services vary greatly, however all of them allow attaching files to them.  You may need to consult the help section of your particular email program.
