Setting up your cabinet pricing in KCDw is very easy with the price wizard. Just follow the simple steps below to customize your price list to match the way you price out your jobs. Before setting up your pricing you should make a copy of your price list. Click here to learn more about copying the default KCDw Pricing method.

Step 1: Click on the General Menu Item and go to General Setup. Here you can set the Material Name for this price list as well as the pricing method. Lineal, Square or Cubic Foot. Each Page has a set of instuctions at the top to tell you how to use that page.

Step 2: Below General Setup, there is Drawer Setup. You set the pricing for Drawer Boxes, Pullouts, Spice Drawers, Drawer Guides and Pullout Guides.

Step 3: Next is Panel Setup. Here you set the pricing for back and side panels as well as fluted pilasters.

Step 6: Under Doors, You set the square foot cost and the fixed cost for each of the doors in KCDw. Remember that Doors are calculated separately from the Cabinets.

Step 7: Under Molding, you can set the lineal price for all the molding in KCDw. You can aslo set whether you want to price by the lineal inch, lineal foot or in 8 foot increments.

Step 8: You are Done!!!

Important Notes:

Start Simple, there are a lot of options, set most of them to zero at first.
You don't have to price items you don't use. If you don't build cabinets with Flutes, don't worry about the price. If you don't make upper lazy susan cabinets, don't try and figure a price.
The price you set for your cabinets will be the lineal, square or cubic foot price for that cabinet (depending on the option you choose) in most cases. However some units are priced with a fixed cost (they will be labeled that way, the price method you choose will have no effect on these units.
The viewer automatically saves your work, when you switch between pages, however you can also click save under the file menu as well. You can never save too often.
Click on the red question mark info for more information on that question.

Experiment, setup something, then check the price, if they are wrong adjust your figures. Soon you will get the hang of how it works.
