Notes can be used to place text, ovals, boxes, or lines on your screen. This is useful to "dress-up" a design with some pertinent information. All notes are placed individually which means that each note would need to be put on your design one-by-one. If you have used Window® Paintbrush you will find placing lines, boxes, and ovals similar to the way in that program. If you have not used that program you will still find it an easy process. Any notes that are on the screen can be turned off by clicking on notes on the main menu bar and then clicking on show notes so that it doesn't have a check mark next to it. Notice that it is not necessary to erase the notes to get them not to show on screen. To erase a note drag it into the trash bin in the lower left.
