What is a Parts List?
A part list is a construction method. Each part list is a different way of building cabinets, doors, and drawers. In each part list there can be variations of a construction method. For example you may build your cabinets one specific way but you have two different drawer methods you may use depending on the job such as Meta-box or side mount drawers. You can edit the part list so that your parts will be correct, the way you would build your cabinets.
What is a Report?
A report controls how your cutlist will be printed out. For example if you want parts for a specific job you like to have all of your faceframe parts grouped together you can change this by editing the Reports. Notice that you don't need to change the size or quantity of faceframe parts only how they will print so you will edit a report rather than editing the part list.
Making a new Parts List
| • | Click on parts from the design section |
| • | Highlight !! KCDw-Frame for Framed Construction, or !! KCDw-Euro for European Construction |
| • | Click the edit button below |
| • | Click on the edit menu item then duplicate then copy entire p-list |
| • | Type in the name for your new part list |
| • | Click in the box below and type in a description which can be any text you want |
| • | Click the OK button (This will create the part list) |
| • | Click on the file menu item then exit |
Making a new Report
| • | Click on the report that is closest to what you would like |
| • | Click on the edit button in the lower left |
| • | Click on save at the new window |
| • | Click yes when it asks you if you want to save the report |
| • | Type in the new name for the report and click the OK button |
| • | Note: New Reports don't show up in the list right away, you must exit the Parts section and then return before you can see your new report. |
