Texture and Color Definitions

KCDw has over 200 different textures and colors for making your cabinets or closets look the way you want.  These are listed in the Textures section or the Set Colors section of the program.  Below are definitions of what those colors and textures control.  Go to the Set Material Textures topic or the Set Colors topic for a discussion on how to change colors and textures.

Wall Color                        -Sets the color and texture of the walls

Group 1 Cabinet        -Sets Color/Texture for all Cabinets in Group 1

Group 2 Cabinet        -Sets Color/Texture for all Cabinets in Group 2

Group 3 Cabinet        -Sets Color/Texture for all Cabinets in Group 3

Group 4 Cabinet        -Sets Color/Texture for all Cabinets in Group 4

Group 5 Cabinet        -Sets Color/Texture for all Cabinets in Group 5

Group 1 Countertop        -Sets Color/Texture for all Countertops in Group 1

Group 2 Countertop        -Sets Color/Texture for all Countertops in Group 2

Group 3 Countertop        -Sets Color/Texture for all Countertops in Group 3

Group 4 Countertop        -Sets Color/Texture for all Countertops in Group 4

Group 5 Countertop        -Sets Color/Texture for all Countertops in Group 5

A note here, in Group 1 (2, 3 etc) Cabinet, you are setting the color/texture for the whole cabinet.  KCDw does let you break those down and edit colors and textures for individual portions of the cabinet.  The places to do that, are listeded below.

Cabinet Piece Colors and Textures

Each color group, 1 through 5 has the option to change portions of the cabinets.  When you change the Group Cabinet color, all the parts of the cabinet change proportionally, however here you can further alter those colors and textures.

Group 1(through 5) Cabinet Sides        -Set color/texture for the sides of a cabinet

Group 1(through 5) Cabinet Top                -Set color/texture for the tops of a cabinet

Group 1(through 5) Cabinet Back        -Set color/texture for the Backs of a cabinet

Group 1(through 5) Door Color                -Set color/texture for Cabinet Doors

Group 1(through 5) Door Hightlight        -Set color/texture for Highlight (bright) portion of the Door

Group 1(through 5) Door Shadow        -Set color/texture for Shadow (dark) portion of the Door

Group 1(through 5) Drawer Color        -Set color/texture for Cabinet Drawer Fronts

Group 1(through 5) Drawer Highlight        -Set color/texture for Highlight (bright) portion of the Dwr Frt

Group 1(through 5) Shelf Color                -Set color or texture for Cabinet Shelves

Group 1(through 5) Line Color                -Set color or texture for line edging of Cabinets

Group 1(through 5) Cabinet Blind        -Set color or texture for space on Blind Corner Cabinets

Group 1(through 5) CTop Edges                -Set color or texture for edging of Counter Tops

Group 1(through 5) Backsplash Tile        -Set color or texture for Tile portion of the backsplash

Note:  With Doors, Drawer Fronts and Molding, the main color/texture sets the color for the whole door, drawer front or molding.  The Highlight and Shadow are set proportional to the main color.

Appliance Color                -Sets Color/Texture for all large appliances Refrigerator, Stove, Dishwasher, Laundry and Microwave

Also with Appliances, you can set the color of all appliances in the Appliance Color, you can also change the individual colors of appliances.  You will see the places for that below as well.

Handle Color                -Handles on Cabinets

Handle Highlight                -Handle highlight (Bright) portion of trim (for 3D line drawing in color)

Floor                                -Flooring

Floor Tile Grout                -The grout (space) between tiles on the floor

Table                                -The table, in the accessories library

Table Highlight                -Table highlight (Bright) portion of trim (for 3D line drawing in color)

Table Shadow                -Table Shadow (Dark) portion of trim (for 3D line drawing in color)

Porcelain                        -Plates, Some bowls, Farmer Sink

Porcelain Highlight        -Porcelain highlight (Bright) portion of trim (for 3D line drawing in color)

Fabric Color                -Bed Spread, Curtains

Fabric Shadow                -Shadow Color for Fabric (Only useful in 3D Color Line Drawing)

Wall Tile Grout                -The Grout (space) between tiles on back splashes

Kettle/Canister                -Color/Texture for the Tea Kettle and Canisters in the Accessory Libary

Office Equipment        -Color/Texture for Computer, Printer and other office equipment

Office Furniture                -Color/Texture for Office Chair

Home Furniture                -Color/Texture for Sofa and Easy Chair

Wood Furniture                -Color/Texture for the Grandfather Clock

Lamp Shade                -Color/Texture for the Lamp Shade
